Digital 3D Correlation System Vic-3D
Non-contact measurement of deformation and strain analysis, correlation system.
The digital 3D correlation system Vic-3D can measure the deformation of materials and components over a full field and perform strain analysis in a non-contact, three-dimensional manner. The system uses two high-resolution digital cameras to record the surface deformation of the object being measured in real-time, and from the recorded data, three-dimensional deformation information of the object is obtained using a special image correlation method. In addition to measuring deformation and strain in three dimensions, it can also separate and obtain strain data under various loading conditions, such as tension, compression, bending, twisting, and complex loading conditions where these overlap, in both vertical and horizontal directions. This functionality can be applied to virtually any material without significant limitations. ■ Measurement principle based on digital image correlation method The displacement of each point on the surface of the object being measured is calculated with sub-pixel accuracy between adjacent areas. ■ By measuring from different angles simultaneously, the three-dimensional movement at each point of the object being measured is calculated. The resolution is 1/100,000 of the field of view for displacement and 0.01% for strain (depending on the field of view). ■ Calibration is made easier by moving a calibration plate within the camera's field of view. The 3D correlation system can be easily used under various conditions.
